Thought of the Day
Every single House Republican voted against the stimulus plan last night.
When Republicans attack Democrats on taxes, they include any vote that is even tangentially related to tax cuts (like motions to proceed, filibusters, amendments, etc.). Even budget resolutions that would allow tax cuts to remain in place or require their repeal during reconciliation. They’ll even say that opposing a tax cut is the same as a tax hike.
So if every Republican votes against a bill containing tax cuts, doesn’t that mean every Republican has now voted against tax cuts?
Haven’t we upended the political order, and established that the GOP supports tax hikes during an economic recession?
