Disasters always come in threes. Today was no exception. But Senator Adams was too busy to notice.
With the recovery of his alma mater from the devastation of tornadoes foremost on his mind, he was too busy to concern himself with the new vacancy on the Supreme Court.
With his key legislative initiative under assault, he was too busy to notice the suicide of a country lawyer who tried and failed to contact the Senator the day before.
In the midst of planning his own wedding, he was too busy to notice that not all doors in the Capitol were open to him, or that these locked doors could provide the real link between these events.
Fortunately, there are those who are desperate for him to discover the truth. Even if it means sharing a century’s worth of secrets with an idealist who abhors government secrecy.

Trivia: During a major revision to the plot, the author incorporated back-story involving Jeff Simon, an ambitious but ethical student who challenged the secret society from within. This back-story had originally been planned as the plot for “Legacy,” a prequel to the Mike Adams series loosely inspired by true events in 2004. Other plot elements from this unwritten prequel have found their way in other subsequent Adams projects.
