In today’s Washington Post, there is speculation that a recent scout mission by actor Ben Affleck for real estate in Virginia might be a prelude to a run for the U.S. Senate.

Oh, please. Not another celebrity-cum-politician. As we saw with Arnold, they can make terrible political leaders if they are trying it out in the wrong state.

Personally, if Affleck tried his fame out on a Senate bid in New Jersey, or Massachusetts, I could believe it. He’s got that northeastern liberal vibe. I just don’t see it in Virginia, and not with a carpetbagger start to the campaign.
