Personal Revelations
The first draft of this poem was done in 1997. I heavily re-edited it prior to posting it here in 2015.
Personal Revelations
By the time I saw your face,
You quickened the pace.
I went searching
But I didn’t find you again.
It wasn’t until you came back,
That life for me returned.
What went wrong?
I can tell you. It was me.
I didn’t know to care.
The one thing I did share,
All I did was hurt you.
And you left to begin your life anew.
Without the love, I’m nothing.
Without your trust, I’m a failure.
A lesson learned, heart broken.
But now, there’s a chance at us again.
