Watch out for those pre-nups
This is just too funny. In an increasingly commonplace occurance, wives are running against their husbands, or vice versa.
Each case, it’s usually an estranged, divorced, or soon-to-be-divorced spouse that is taking on their ex-lover, the politician. It’s a lot like saying, “Fine, you can keep the house and the kids, but I’m taking your seat in the state legislature!”
What’s next? Pre-nup agreements requiring the politician to give up his elected seat to his spouse upon a divorce?
Seriously, one’s personal and familial issues should not be an excuse to run for political office, nor should we tolerate that kind of immature behavior.
