Radio Host Gets “Hardballed”
Chris Matthews totally kicked the ass of a brain-dead frat boy on national television last night:
Of course, when I mean “frat boy”, I mean the over-hyped stereotype of an intellectually lazy, gregarious, loud, and obnoxious guy who tries to talk tough to mask the fact that he doesn’t know anything. Seriously, the radio show how reminded me of George Bush.
It is quite a sight to see. When asked what Chamberlain did in 1938-39 that labeled him an appeaser, the right-winger just could not answer, and kept parroting the loaded word “appeasement” – suggesting he didn’t even know what the word meant, much less the historical context.
As Matthews explains, appeasement of Hitler involved actually allowing Hitler to take what he wanted. Talking to an enemy, even Hitler, isn’t appeasement – it’s the caving in to their demands without extracting any kind of diplomatic or substantive concessions that makes you an appeaser.
And this goes back to what Bush said earlier yesterday – talking to Iran is not the same thing as appeasing terrorists. Yet, Bush ruined the 60th anniversary celebration of Israel’s independence to launch an attack on Barack Obama that he was too chicken-shit to do in the comfort of his own White House.
Wingers, please take note – Americans are smarter than the stereotypical frat boy. Talking tough has gotten us no where the last 8 years, and America has lost its patience with that approach. And you’re going to get every last bit of electoral comeuppance you deserve in November.
