Meet House Democrat #235
Upending for a second time a long-time Republican District, House Democrats now can claim at least 235 seats, with growing signs of even more seats to be gained on Election Day in November.
Don Cazayoux had to overcome being tarred with guilt by association with Speaker Pelosi and Senator Barack Obama, and accusations that he is a liberal on taxes, but that didn’t seem to matter as he defeated Woody Jenkins, 49%-46% in a district that voted 59%-40% for President Bush just four years ago.
A great weekend to be a Democrat, as enough trouble is brewing for the other party to the point where even the Deep South is no longer safe for the Republicans.
I wonder if we’ll see any more House Republicans opt to retire as a result of all this?
