GOP Budget Woes
The GOP, it seems, is in an uproar over not being allowed amendments on an omnibus budget bill being debates this week.
Oh, cry me a river.
These are the same people who, when they had a majority in the House of Representatives, could be bothered to pass an appropriations bill on time and, after they lost their majority, forfeited their obligations to pass these spending measures for 2006 entirely and hoisted them onto the newly Democratic Congress.
If the GOP really wanted a say on how the appropriations bills were designed for the current year, they should never have abandoned the job they were elected to just because of a post-election temper tantrum.
All the Congress is doing now is cleaning up after the mess the GOP left behind. Thanfully, we have mature adults in charge now to handle the job.
