Gary for L.A. City Council
Gary Slossberg is a candidate for City Council in Los Angeles, District 13.
I’ve known Gary since 1999, when he was a presidential candidate and party chairman for the GDI’s original tour-de-force, the UF Vision Party. He’s been a passionate advocate for every community he’s lived in, and has been particularly concerned with women’s rights and equality for all. As a lawyer representing battered women in Los Angeles, he has continued that committment after moving out west. I wish him a lot of luck in the upcoming local election.
UPDATE: In the interest of full disclosure, I’ve donated $40 to Gary’s campaign; the local maximum in L.A. is $500. I know it’s not much, but every little bit helps an insurgent campaign like Gary’s.
Thanks for the good wishes, Ken! We need more GDI’s like us elected into government so it can start working for the people as it was designed to do. If any of you readers want to show some support for a truly grassroots campaign, they can sign on to my web community at http://www.gary4citycouncil.com and even donate via the website if they are feeling generous (small contributions of $15-25 go a long way…600 contributions of $25 will give me the $15,000 I need to run a competitive campaign). My opponent is the current City Council President and has raised well over $700,000, so I can use all the support I can get. Thank again, Ken!
