Election Day Is Here
Damn, I accidently deleted my last electoral college projection. I remember it was something like 306-176-56. (A gain of 20 for Obama and 2 for McCain, and the 56 are tossups.)
High turnout
A precinct a couple blocks down from my neighborhood (not mine but the next one over) had a line out of the school, down the hill, along the sidewalk, and around the corner. Several hundred people waiting to vote at 6:45am. It was both scary and awe-inspiring at the same time.
GOTV ancedote
Four years ago, I worked for Bowles for Senate in North Carolina. Our GOTV operation for the Dem ticket started on Election Day at 7am. Now, Obama’s team is so well organized and motivated that even before I got out the door at 6:30am there was already door hanger lit waiting on my door! And it had my correct precinct information and not just a generic reminder to vote. Now that’s an impressive feat. We’ll see if it matters tonight.
Is Obama Surging?
