Return of the CatBlog
I’ve had these pictures from my digital camera for more than a month, so it’s high-time I converted them to smaller files and post them on the Web, eh?
Today’s picture is an introduction to Ashley. She is a pet I adopted from an Arlington County Animal Shelter visit after I moved out of the apartment I had shared with Ian Koski until August 2003. I had picked her black and white sister who was more playful and loveable in general, but fell for Ashley when she curled up in my lap against me, scared of the strange visit, and yet sniffed and cried for her sister when we brought them both together in the same room. It was so cute, I couldn’t resist. Her sister, due to malnutrition and other issues, didn’t survive the surgery they both went through upon adoption (a spay/neuter procedure).
Anyway, so here’s Ashley. She’s been with me for 4 years now. She’s grown out of her shell, and I’ve even gotten her to purr a couple times, but mostly holds a “takes no crap” attitude except when she wants the attention. In the above picture, she’s trying to figure out my new electronic toy, so she’s sticking her nose right into the camera as I’m taking the picture.
