CEBS – It’s Official!
March 20, 2016 – Ken Kerns, MA, CEBS, has been recognized for attaining continuing professional education (CPE) compliance in the Certified Employee Benefit Specialist program for a two-year period ending December 31, 2018. Kerns is a recent graduate of the Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) program, co-sponsored by the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans (IFEBP) and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Kerns earned the CPE-compliance distinction by attesting to completing 30 hours of required continuing professional education over the last two years. All graduates of the CEBS program are subject to this requirement.
One of the most widely recognized and respected professional credentials, the Certified Employee Benefit Specialist program is a unique, university-developed curriculum covering all aspects of the total compensation body of knowledge. Kerns earned his CEBS designation in 2016, after almost five years of studying, with specialties in Retirement Plans and Compensation Management.
Kerns is a quality assurance manager at the UMWA Health & Retirement Funds and an independent author.
