Birthday Writing Roundup
Just to keep everyone up-to-date:
1) “Confirmation”, the final book in the Mike Adams Story, has been shelved temporarily. As I said earlier this year, most of my work on it was lost when a memory card went missing, and I didn’t have the heart to jump back in yet. Have no fear, it’s the most ambitious of my planned stories, so I do intend to come back to it. But just not this year.
2) I then began work on “Legacy”, a prequel-style book covering the events that formed the villain of “Reunion at University Avenue” and help provide background to The Circle. But the plot design was too close to actual events at UF, circa 2002-2004, and so I need to revise it, condense it, and make other changes. That book has been set aside temporarily.
3) My current project, which I hope to complete by my usual self-publishing date of January, is one I am really enjoying. Tentatively entitled “Something More”, it is a first-person narrative that recalls how the routine of daily living can seem like happiness to some, until unplanned events cause you to rethink and rediscover yourself. As it’s not a thriller, or a political campaign story, and it’s written in a different narrative style, I am enjoying this project more than I expected. What’s more, with the exception of some minor character elements, I am doing much more to create fictional people in this story than I did in the Mike Adams books (where the line between fiction and reality, both internally to the story and between the novel and my life, were deliberately blurred as a plot device).
Expect to hear me talk more about the “Something More” novel as work progresses.
