UF 2006 Is Slow Moving
Since I’ve begun working on “Legacies”, a prequel to my Adams trilogy, I’ve gotten roped into following the UF 2006 election a little more closely than I did the 2003-2005 spring elections. At least for now.
But so far, this election is slow-moving. Slating is going to happen soon, and none of the parties or candidates have officially announced. Quite strange.
Oops, I’m sorry – an independent candidate for treasurer has announced, but hers is not a new name. Susan Henriques was the unsuccessful Treasurer nominee of the 2005 Progress party, and until recently was a long-serving veteran of the SG Finance office.
Also, student Senator Jared Hernandez (Gator-Law) recently renounced his party and became an Independent. He also gave up his seats on Judiciary and Rules & Ethics. Presumably, this is a prelude to his crossing the floor and joining the Impact party as its presidential nominee, as most bloggers are expecting.
Obviously your sources aren’t telling you enough then. 😉
No, this post was about the public activities in this campaign. Obviously, the System’s endorsement, going around to greek houses and organizations for support, etc., have already been happening. But no one is reporting it, and so far the Alligator is all but pretending there are no candidates in this election.
I’m just itching to see stuff happen publicly.
