That time again
I didn’t try to make much of a secret of the fact that I respect Nikki Fried and had some contact with her and several other folks within the Unite Party camp last time. I too underestimated the importance of the Honors/IRHA block in the spring. But there’s a new election going on and I am sure it’ll be just as interesting… for those who can follow it.
UF Fall 2006 is unique, though. I cannot recall a single election in recent memory where the Vice President was being elected in the fall because academic requirements caused the one elected in the Spring to resign. So this actually makes for a more important fall election than is usual, and gives UF an unique opportunity to elect a VP separate from the President.
Swamp vs. Action vs. Pants vs. the random independents.
If history is any guide, the Fall will be overwhelmingly in Swamp’s favor as the greek/incumbent party, although a few districts will be competitive for Action. And depending on the quality of the top of the ticket, the VP choices, it may make things more competitive than is typical. Somehow I doubt it.
Any wagers on Swamp winning a majority in the popular vote, even with 2 opposition candidates?
