SigEp May Already Have Won
With the public announcement of the SWAMP party ticket, it appears that the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity is likely to win no matter which party wins the election. Unless there is a bizarre twist of split-ticket voting, someone from SigEp will have won a campus-wide election. This is not unheard of in SG at UF, and SigEp has seen more than its share of split decisions in endorsing SG candidates.
For 2006, SWAMP has nominated SigEp President Ryan Moseley for Treasurer; Ryan is a Senate Budget chairman, and widely seen as a possible Student Body President candidate in 2007. Unite, on the other hand, has a SigEp alum and former IFC President, Jared Hernandez, as its presidential candidate.
So, unless the voters back the Swamp presidential candidate and the Unite treasurer candidate, which is just one of 4 but also one of the least likely scenarios, a SigEp will win on March 1st.
