Wishful thinking?
A scientific study on Yahoo! right now suggests that left-handed men with a college degree earn 26% more than their right-hander counterparts.
Is it wishful thinking, or can I be optimistic that my being a lefty will help me bring in more bucks?
Coincidentally, a management position has been vacated at The Funds (my employer), but I’m not inclined to apply, because it involves running our Call Center. That, and I only got my last promotion 9 months ago, and I doubt I’d get to cross over from classified to management anytime soon. (I am too casual with “business casual” and I am generally too honest with management as it is.)
Is it possibly because lefties are a smaller demographic?
I’m not sure being a smaller demographic leads to higher wages – ethnic minorities in this country tend to receive less.
If anything, it could be a sign of too many outliers among the lefties that participated in the study.
It definitely makes you think, though.
