Things Going On
Here’s a brief update of stuff going on in my life.
Lease to be renewed? My lease on the apartment is up in August, so I’m contemplating renewal. They want a $70 increase in rent, which is pretty high in my estimation. But I loath moving, especially with my new and heavy furniture, so I don’t know yet. I have until July 2nd to decide.
King Tut. I went to see the King Tut exhibit in Philadelphia on Saturday. Pretty interesting stuff. And some you could tell was authentic as opposed to “restored” because of the damage to some of the artifacts. It was a full day of museum fun. I’m just disappointed that the gift shop didn’t have miniature obseliks.
Do you have your cell? I called someone to let them know I was at the staircase leading to their apartment. Their response? “Great. By the way, do you have your cell phone with you?” Think about that for a second, and you’ll laugh.
Cat blogging in my future? Relatives should know this – my birthday is in August, and if I don’t get it as a present, I’ll get a digital camera for myself. I like the idea that I could take pictures of my cats and other funny happenings and then post them on my website without having to print them or anything. So maybe you’ll see some cat blogging before the summer is over.
Projects being merged. I’m slowly working up the urge to resume work on “Confirmation”, my third and final Adams story. As it happens, I believe I’m going to merge that story with my earlier proposed prequel, “Legacy”, because my rewrite of the “Confirmation” story has eliminated a number of unnecessary subplots, and because “Legacy” didn’t appeal to me as a stand-alone as much as once did.
AGS anthologies. Another writing project I’ll be working on this summer is a set of two anthologies that capture the best of the political writings done on AGS, a government simulation I’ve been involved with for the past 3 years. One anthology is a private project including all my major speeches, etc. The other will be published via Lulu and will be a general anthology that includes some of the best of AGS.
