First Snow
It snowed today for the first time this entire winter. While normally I see snowfall by early December, most of that time was unseasonably warm – fall weather during winter. It was great. But today the snow finally fell, leaving a small white coating on the lawn outside of my apartment.
It’s always a nice scene, and I’m glad we finally got it.
I’ve been busy and not busy the last couple months, so pardon my lack of blogging. I’ve missed covering Bush’s escalation of troops, the Democrats and their first 100 hours as a congressional majority, the 2007 New Year’s resolutions, and many other events. It’s not that I’ve been too busy to write; I’ve just allowed myself to get distracted, or to catch up on sleep.
I fully intend to continue writing my current project (“Something More” is the working title), with the 2 Adams-universe projects on hold for now. My team at the UMWA Funds is getting a new employee soon. My employer is working feverishly to implement a new contract and a life-saving congressional bailout that adds billions to our assets over the next 10 years. And my term is coming to a close as grievance chair for the Funds’ employees union.
So a lot is going on, and 2007 is expected to remain hectic for a while.
